The Once Upon An Island Festival of Story is a biannual Festival held over the June Queen’s birthday weekend.
There have been six festival to date with the next Festival set to take place 1- 4 June 2012.
The Festival, directed by Tanya Batt, a professional performance storyteller and author, aims to celebrate story in all its guises.
It builds upon existing community structures,networks and talent as well as showcasing professional performers from both New Zealand and over seas.
The Festival is a four day event which takes place in theatres, galleries, parks, markets, on vineyards, Maraes, up trees, underground and any place a willing audience can be found.
